The Silken Windhound is a relatively new, coated, medium sized sighthound breed developed in the USA. They are similar to greyhounds, salukis, borzoi, whippets and other sighthounds.
'

Silken Windhounds (or Silkens for short) are registered through the UKC and the International Silken Windhound Society, and can be seen participating in many activities such as conformation shows, lure coursing, oval track racing, open field coursing, and straight racing events.

These dogs are quite attractive and agile athletes, with gentle, non-aggressive tempermants. Above all they make outstanding pets and companions.
