Dita is the elegantly photogenic Queen of Kumbaya. When we first became interested in adding Silken Windhounds to our family we had seen her parents, Gideon and Cinder of Talisman Hounds, well before Dita's litter was conceived, we dreamt of an irish marked brindle girl. Dita was the only irish marked brindle girl in her entire litter so you could say she was destined to be part of the family from the day she was born. Dita running on the beach As a show dog, she has really made her mark. The very first time she stepped into the ring Dita wound up taking a Best Puppy in Breed, Winners Bitch, Best Puppy in Hound Group, and went all the way to win Best Puppy in Show under AKC Hound judge Pat Gilbert, giving her her first five point major towards her show championship.
Dita's first shows with a Rarities Best Puppy in Show Win with judge Pat Gilbert Oct 2005 She got her second Rarites/NAKC major by going Winners Bitch in a very large showing of Silkens in the spring of '06, and finished her Rarities NAKC Championship in December of '06 !
Western Regional Show " Boofest" 07 Reserve Winners Bitch with judge Cyndi Dell of Morgandell Borzoi Dita , in our largest regional Specialty to date, "Boofest" 2007, with an entry of 60 hounds won Reserve Winners Bitch ! From the Judges Commentary of Dita by Cyndi Dell : "... a real show girl , she was another I could have taken all the way. Again the head, eye, forechest and brisket to go with her superb angulation. She is a beautifully filled out bitch and feels wonderful to the touch. Her more rounded outline gives her a more dramatic angle at the croup than the winner. It was a difficult choice between the two. "
Silken Windhound Nationals 2008 Winners Bitch to finish her ISWS Ch, with judge Roberto Elinan, Kent Jones , Joyce Chin , and Steve Jones At the Silken Windhound Nationals in 08 in Colorado, Dita trotted her way to WB and Best of Winners under FCI judge Roberto Elinan. finishing her ISWS title!

Dita as a Baby Dita was a standout even as a very young puppy. She's just barely five weeks old in the picture above, and already you can see some of the humor and coquettishness she has as an adult.
Dita and Loki the Swamphounds Dita, like her half brother and best canine friend in the whole world Loki, is a pure swamphound, and she loves nothing better than a fast romp in the surf with him. Luckily, they can be indulged their love of water by regular trips to the best place in the Bay Area to bring your dogs for off leash fun Fort Funston
Dita Leaping Ft Funston Beach Dita started her race career in late 06 at the very first ISWs regional race specialty, having never practice raced before, so we weren't sure what she could do.
Dita Racing in the fall She really amazed us, in her very first race day ever in a large field of experienced racers, our elegant brindle girl blazed her way right to the high pt races and earned her first SRC points towards her ISWS straight racing championship !
Dita racing in the spring Since then, she's earned even more points, and it's looking as if she has the speed to match her beauty!

We love conditioning our dogs for racing and the show ring with plenty of leash-free runs at the beach. They love to really get out there to play surf-and-sand games of tag, and show us what they were born to do.
Dita and Kent puppy show train Dita's light on her feet, walks herself right into a stack, and has been very much the polished show dog right from the beginning as you can see from this early photograph of us show training before Dita's first show outing.
Dita at the races 1 day shy of a year old We're hoping she's passed down her winning ways to another generation of Silkens with the birth of her first litter , themed Hot Stuff we think these two little boys and three girls will really make their mark in the ring and on the field. One pup , Kumbaya Smoke Signal "Smokey" who is at Delta Windhounds has already had an incredible start to his show career, going Best Puppy in Breed at an April 08 ISWS Specialty hosted at a Rarities NAKC show !
